Get Back In The Game

At Jonesboro Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine we specialize in all aspects of Orthopaedic Surgery.  This includes cutting edge techniques in Sports Medicine involving the knee, shoulder, and elbow as well as the latest in joint replacement such as partial knee replacement and hip resurfacing.  Our practice also encompasses treatment of general orthopaedic conditions such as fractures, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Our group was founded in 1976 by Dr. Glenn Dickson and was originally Dickson Orthopaedics.   The name was changed to Jonesboro Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in 2009.  Dr. Brian Dickson, Dr. Spencer Guinn, and Dr. Jeremy Swymn are the three partners of the group.

We are the Head Team Physicians for Arkansas State University, Williams Baptist College, and Crowley’s Ridge College.  We also serve as the Medical Directors for St. Bernards Sports Medicine.  Dr. Glenn Dickson began caring for ASU athletes in 1976 and served as the Head Team Physician for 27 years.   Drs. Dickson, Guinn, and Swymn continue to serve as Head Team Physicians for Arkansas State University.  We began our service as Head Team Physicians for Williams Baptist College in 2009 and for Crowley’s Ridge College in 2010.  Our commitment to sports medicine and to the athletes in our area is a very important part of our practice.  As Medical Directors of St. Bernards Sports Medicine, we care for many of the high school and junior high athletes in Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.  We cover high school football on Friday nights throughout Northeast Arkansas.

Education is an important part of what we do as Orthopaedic Surgeons.  We serve as faculty at Arkansas State University in the Athletic Training program as Medical Directors and Clinical Preceptors.  Our group is also on staff at Harding University for the Physician’s Assistant program where we have served as Clinical Preceptors since 2006.  Finally we are Clinical Preceptors in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics for University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, specifically the Area Health Education Center in Jonesboro.

Our group has cared for Northeast Arkansas orthopaedic needs for many years and strives to continue to provide the best orthopaedic care for our community and the surrounding area.
