JOSM is excited to announce that Dr. Morgan Benefield is joining the practice as a primary care sports medicine physician and will be assisting with team coverage of the Arkansas State RedWolves.

Dr Benefield is a 2014 graduate of Arkansas State University and received her medical degree with honors from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in 2018. She completed her residency as chief resident at the University of Alabama Family Medicine Residency Program in Tuscaloosa as well as completing a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Alabama (UA). Dr. Benefield later accepted a position as Assistant professor of Family, Internal and Rural Medicine at UA, as well as treating patients at the University Medical Center’s Bill deShazo Sports Medicine Center.

Dr Benefield is returning to Jonesboro and will be treating patients in JOSM’s second location at 1416 East Matthews, inside the St Bernards Health and Wellness Center. She will be treating a variety of non- operative musculoskeletal and sports medicine injuries. She has interests in concussion management, fracture care, and musculoskeletal ultrasound procedures.

She is a member of The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Family Physicians, and The American College of Sports Medicine.

Dr Benefield is a native of Wynne, Arkansas. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, all things sport and hanging out with her dog, Max.
